Nature Prints

These prints are created using the reduction method of lino-cutting.  To achieve the different colours, the lino is carved back (reduced) for each change of colour. Eventually there is very little lino left. Artists have to decide in advance how many prints to make and this then creates ‘an edition’. If you see something similar to 1/10 on the bottom of a lino print, it is likely to be made by the reduction method.
